VIGANTOL is a preparation that supplements vitamin D3 levels in the body. Vigantol ® is used to prevent rickets and osteomalacia in children and adults, as well as to prevent rickets in premature infants. Vigantol ® helps prevent vitamin D3 deficiency and reduces the risk of its occurrence, thus being used to prevent conditions at risk of vitamin D3 deficiency in children and adults. It is also recommended as an adjunct treatment for osteoporosis in adults. Indications Prevention of rickets and osteomalacia in children and adults, prevention of rickets in premature babies, prevention of diseases at risk of vitamin D deficiency in children and adults. Composition 1 drop contains 12.5µg of cholecalciferol (equivalent to 500 IU of vitamin D3) and excipients. Dosage Premature babies: 2 drops daily of Vigantol solution (1000 IU vitamin D3). After reaching the corrected age of 40 weeks, the preventive dose should be reduced. The dosage must be determined by the attending physician. Newborns and infants (up to 12 months): 1 drop per day of Vigantol solution (equivalent to 500 IU of vitamin D3). Adults, adolescents (aged 12 years and over) and the elderly: 1 drop per day of Vigantol solution (equivalent to 500 IU of vitamin D3). Supportive treatment of osteoporosis in adults: 2 drops per day of Vigantol solution (equivalent to 1000 IU of vitamin D3). Contraindications Hypersensitivity to the active substance cholecalciferol or to any of the excipients. Hypercalcemia and/or hypercalciuria. Nephrolithiasis and/or severe renal failure. Pseudohypoparathyroidism (vitamin D requirements may be reduced during periods of normal sensitivity to this vitamin. Taking long-acting vitamin D during this period may lead to a risk of overdose. In such situations, vitamin D should be taken, the level of which is easier to control. Packaging 2 x 10 ml
