Opis

The book contains three studies related to the issue of the images or representations of the Universe between the 16th and 18th centuries. The first describes the differences between the notions of the model, image and figure of the Universum in the early modern period. In the second study we present astronomical prints related to the activity of Johannes Hevelius, a scholar from Gdańsk (Danzig). The third text is an analysis of the early modern representations of the harmony of the Universe in relation to their medieval prototypes.
